What is a Mystery School?

Maybe you've come across the words Mystery School before. And maybe something stirred in you when you did. Curiosity, a flicker of recognition, or simply the question: but what actually is a Mystery School?

A Mystery School is not a school in the way we usually think of one. There are no grades here, no exams, no diploma to tell you that you're "done." A Mystery School is a place where you remember what you already know deep inside.

The word mystery points to the mystery of life itself, that part of our existence we can never fully grasp or explain with the mind. Who am I, really? Why am I here? What is my body trying to tell me? Which parts of myself did I lose along the way? And what emerges when I stop trying to become someone else, and instead keep coming home to who I already am?

The Ancient Mystery Schools

Mystery Schools have existed for thousands of years. Across different ancient cultures, there were places where people were initiated into the deeper layers of life, consciousness, and spirituality, not so much by gathering information, but through direct experience.

You could hear about love, but in the end you had to feel it for yourself. You could learn about consciousness, but in the end you had to meet it within yourself. You could be told about life and death, but in the end you were invited to face your own fears, your own shadows, your own outdated identities.

The knowledge held within a Mystery School was therefore never meant only for the mind. It was knowledge meant to move through the body, through the heart, through lived experience.

The Mystery School of Today

I was called to found this Mystery School of Sacred Self Love. I felt the calling the first time during a Priestess training, sitting in a tipi in Ibiza. It struck me, wow, a Mystery School about sacred self love, that feels big, and what does this actually mean? I had to learn about sacred self love and remember myself more and more before I was able to fully step into this Mystery School.

The wisdom of Mystery Schools is found in ancient temples, inside the walls of sacred places, for instance in the cave of Rennes-le-Château, in books, and handed down from mother to daughter or from teacher to student. I have remembrances of being part of different Mystery Schools in past lives. So within ourselves we also remember this ancient wisdom. We are here to translate this ancient wisdom into modern times.

In this Mystery School I invite you to connect with your higher self, remember deeply your place in the universe and why you came here. And at the same time, to feel your body, to learn to feel your feelings, and to protect your own energy.

This is why I invite you, in this Mystery School, to experience who you are and who you have always been in your essence, and to learn what this means to you in your normal day to day life.

To move again and again from understanding to feeling. From surviving to truly living. From adapting yourself to embodying yourself. From searching to coming home.

Why I Call My Work a Mystery School

Because I believe every human being carries a deeper wisdom within them, a layer beneath all the roles, expectations, beliefs, and stories we've collected along the way.

You are not only what you've been through. You are not only your thoughts. You are not only your body. And you're also not only the person you learned to become in order to belong, to be loved, or to feel safe.

There is something underneath all of that. A quiet place that often already knows which direction feels true. Sometimes it's your body that speaks first. Sometimes it's a feeling you can no longer ignore. Sometimes it's a longing. And sometimes it's exhaustion, tension, or a pattern that keeps repeating itself.

I believe all of these can be doorways into deeper contact with yourself. And that is where the Mystery School begins, not with learning something new, but with remembering.

Sacred Self Love

The Mystery School of Sacred Self Love, in the end, is about one great movement: coming home to yourself.

Not by improving yourself. Not by becoming some perfected version of who you are. But by making more and more room for everything that is truly alive in you: your body, your emotions, your history, your longings, your intuition, your softness, your strength, your light and your shadow.

Because maybe becoming whole isn't about becoming someone else. Maybe it's about becoming, more and more fully, who you already are.

That, to me, is the essence of a Mystery School. A place where you don't learn who you should be, but where you slowly begin to remember who you are.
